Admissions Process

We are excited you are interested in applying to Hernando Christian Academy. Whether you are applying for entrance into K4 through 12th grade, the first step is to complete our Online Application. There is a $75 non-refundable application fee, which includes the cost of testing.

APPLY ONLINE

Lower School, (K4 – 5) Apply

All children entering pre-school through 5th grade are required to take an entrance test. After the application has been received, you will be contacted by Admissions to set up a testing date. Once the testing is completed and test results have been reviewed by our Elementary office, we will set up an admissions interview with the Elementary Principal. At least one parent (preferably both) must be present with the student at the interview. After the interview, you will meet with our Admissions Director.

The interview will include:

  • Overview of school policies and procedures, including academic and spiritual standards
  • Review of Student Application
  • Review of Testing
  • Review of IEP (if applicable)

Upon acceptance to Hernando Christian Academy, you will need the following to complete the enrollment process:

  • Completed Online Enrollment Packet with Deposit Paid.
  • Birth Certificate*
  • Immunization Records*
  • Most Recent Physical (State of Florida School Entrance Health Form)*
  • Signed Financial Agreement
  • Signed Parent/School Cooperation Agreement
  • Signed Statement of Faith
  • Signed and Notarized Emergency Medical Form
  • Signed and Notarized Transportation and Consent for Photographs Form

*Note: If your child is transferring from another school these documents may be included in the school records. If not, it is the parent’s responsibility to submit them to the school within two weeks.

Middle and High School, (6-12) Apply

Once the application has been submitted, you will be contacted by the Admissions Department. All new 6th-8th grade students will be required to take an entrance exam, as well as provide the past two years of report cards and a copy of any standardized tests. All students entering 9th-12th grade, will not be required to take an entrance exam, but will need to provide the past two years of report cards and a copy of any standardized tests. Additionally, we will need to receive the English and Math Recommendation Forms before enrollment. Once Admissions has acquired the necessary documents for review, an interview with the Secondary Principal will be scheduled. At least one parent (preferably both) must be present with the student at the interview. After interviewing with our Secondary Principal, you will meet with our Admissions Director.

The interview will include:

  • Review of Student Application
  • Review of Testing (if applicable)
  • Review of Individual Education Plan (if applicable)
