Our mission at Hernando Christian Academy is “Building Leaders with Christian Character.” This is accomplished within the educational context to a biblical world view that impacts both academic and extra-curricular activities. Emphasis is given to each student’s total development, which includes their personal commitment and service to Jesus Christ.

HCA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and/or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and tuition discount programs, personnel policies or school administered programs.

Our core values express what we believe as an organization. When accompanied with the mission statement, they become the filter through which we evaluate everything we do.

The Word of God. Therefore, it is central to all that happens at Hernando Christian Academy and is the filter for all decision making.

Right Relationships. Therefore, we work to resolve all disputes or differences quickly and Biblically and provide an atmosphere structured for right relationships.

Prayer. Therefore, each day, each class period begins with this vital aspect as we continually seek God’s direction.

Changed Lives. Therefore, we look for “teachable moments” and purpose to use them to continually direct our students’ hearts towards God.

Families. Therefore, we remember that parents are our teacher’s ultimate authority here on earth and we strive to work with them, complement their teachings, respect their opinions, and communicate directly with them on a regular basis.

Churches. Therefore, we recognize that the local church is ordained by God as His instrument to accomplish His work in the world. We encourage regular attendance and participation in Bible-believing local churches and will model this in our lives.

Children. Therefore, we recognize their inherent God-given worth and purpose to love each child unconditionally.

Discipline. Therefore, we conduct our classrooms in an organized, controlled, and loving environment where right is upheld and students are disciplined in a consistent, fair, and loving manner.

Education. Therefore, we strive to provide the best learning that we are capable of providing through consistent preparation, relevant and dynamic presentations, and purposed evaluation.

Excellence. Therefore, everything that we do at Hernando Christian Academy will reflect this quality. Our mindset will be that we do all for the glory of God.

Hernando Christian Academy is a non-denomination school. As such, HCA is very diverse in its student body and faculty as it relates to particular doctrinal positions that vary from denomination to denomination. Doctrines not specifically addressed by the following statement of faith constitute beliefs that we feel are best left up to the home and the local church which the student chooses to attend.

We believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:15; 2 Peter 1:21)

We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19)

We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:36), His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26), His miracles (John 2:11), His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7), His resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:4; John 11:25), His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19), and His personal return in power and glory (Revelation 19:11).

We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God’s grace, through faith alone we are saved. (John 3:16-19; Romans 3:23; 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:9-10; Titus 3:5)

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a Godly life.
