A message from our Superintendent

Welcome to Hernando Christian Academy. The administrative team of Cathy McAllister, Principal; Mike Drummond, Director of Community Affairs; and myself want to thank you for your interest in our exciting programs. We consider it the highest honor to partner with you in the growth and development of your children. We take that responsibility very seriously and commit our best to them and to you.

This year marks a milestone for Hernando Christian: we are celebrating our 30th Anniversary! As we reflect on the past three decades, we are humbled by being given such a tremendous opportunity to serve our community. We praise God for the faculty, staff and families that have been a part of the HCA family over the past thirty years and look forward to adding to that family in the coming school year. No achievement is celebrated alone, and we are excited to share this accomplishment with past, present and future Lions.

One of our primary goals is to facilitate excellent communication between our faculty and parents. This year we will continue to send email reminders of upcoming activities. Additionally, you will receive a weekly report including absences and tardies to date, lunchroom account information and any disciplinary matters involving your child. We will continue to post and archive our monthly newsletter, The Lions Ledger, on our newly designed school website, hernandochristian.org.

As a community of educators, the staff, faculty and administrative team at HCA understand the challenges and vast potential met by each of our students. We are committed to seeing your children overcome those challenges and seize their potential through continual spiritual development, a wide range of dynamic extra-curricular opportunities and sustained academic excellence. We are proud to maintain the high level of quality that parents expect and depend upon, evidenced by HCA's above-average test scores, athletic and academic successes, strong families and, above all, the faith displayed by our incredible students.

You can be confident that HCA is a school of integrity, quality and passion. We seek to honor God by giving our very best. It is this mission that has carried us through the last thirty years and will prepare us for the distinguished future ahead. HCA will not only prepare your children for their own bright future, but will also provide the tools and opportunities they need to honor God and impact their world today.

In His Service,

Ken Alvarez
