Keswick Tournament

Every year The HCA Varsity Volleyball teams go to Keswick Christian School in St. Petersburg for a Volleyball tournament. The tournament spanned over two days. Friday night HCA lions won ¨÷ games, winning against St. Pete Catholic, putting the Lions in the Bronze bracket. The last game that the Lions played in was so close, but we still lost. HCA won one set and the opposing team (Shorecrest) won the other set.  During the last set, both teams were tied up at 18, everything was so close it was a nail-biting finish, but Shorecrest won the game 20-18. There were 4 brackets, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Green. The second day (Saturday), the Lions lost 2/2 games. At the end of the tournament the Lions ranked 12th place, 12/16 that is. I asked Coach Stacy Hethorn what she thought.  Overall, she thinks that "they played well, but we still haven't found our groove where everybody is on in the same game, but hopefully we can end up with a better record by the end of the season."

2010-2011 Season

The HCA volleyball season is almost over. In the past 2 weeks, both volleyball teams have played 4 great games. For JV, 3 wins, 1 loss, The JV team won against Meadowbrook who played us in The Lions Den on Monday, September 26th. The JV team also won against Bayshore twice, once in The Lion's Den and once in Bayshore's gym.  They played Bayshore on the 27th of September and the 3rd of October. But the JV team had one loss against Cambridge. On the other hand the varsity has won 1 and lost 3, 1 win against Meadowbrook, and 2 losses against Bayshore, and one loss against Cambridge.
