Spring is nearing and changes are on the way for the spring sports at Hernando Christian Academy. First, varsity volleyball Coach Sue Murphy takes the helm as the girls’ varsity softball coach. Sue played high school softball at Troy High School in Troy, Pennsylvania. This is Coach Murphy’s second stint as the Lions’ varsity softball coach.

Coach Murphy looks forward to leading a team that has been well designed by departing coach Sue Seidelmann. Murphy appreciates the job Coach Seidelmann has done with the program leading the girls’ to four consecutive district titles. “I’m taking over a solid team and my goal is to keep this program heading in the same direction” Murphy pointed out recently. Murphy plans on making only minor tweaks and concentrating on the fundamentals. “We have quality players who have a lot of experience – we just need to keep them focused on the fundamentals”. Murphy has experienced help as well. Jim Langley will again her assistant coach. Coach Langley has been a long time youth league and AAU coach. “Jim has a ton of experience to tap into” Murphy reports, “he will definitely contribute tremendously”. With all the changes, Murphy and her team will be looking to make it five in a row.
