2010 Varsity Girl's Softball
* NEWSFLASH* Summer workout hours are as follows: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9:00 am - 12:00 noon. Congratulations to our 2010 Lady Lions for advancing to the State Final Four of the 1A State Championships for the second straight season! After another 20 plus win season Coach Chatman anbd the ladies finished as one of the top teams in the state once again!! Congratulations to our 2009 Lady Lions who lost to the State Champion Eagles View Lady Warriors 6-1 in the Final Four of the softball 1A State Championship at Plant City Stadium. The Lady Lions finished with an impressive 22-6 season and finished as one of the top teams in the state in 1A softball! Hernando Christian Academy welcomes Hall of Fame coach Ernie Chatman to the HCA family. Coach Chapman has an extensive coaching resume which includes the head baseball coach at Saint Leo University in 1984. Mr. Chapman spent 34 years at Hernando High School coaching basketball, baseball, cross country, softball and track where his teams won numerous district titles, regional titles and a state championship. He was named the Tampa Tribune Baseball Coach of the Decade for the period of 1975-1985. In 2004, Coach Chapman was inducted into the Florida Coach's Association Hall of Fame. In 2009, Chatman led the Lady Lions to their first ever State Final Four Appearance with the sixth conecutive district title and a 22-6 overall record! Home of the 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 District Champions!! 2009 and 2010 REGIONAL CHAMPIONS AND A SECOND STRAIGHT FINAL FOUR APPEARANCE!
